History: What's happened to your character so far in their life?
Jack was born on the Boeshane in the 51st Century. The Boe was under constant threat of invasion; and one day they came. Jack was told to run with his brother Grey; and he did. He took shelter in the roots of a tree on the shore line and that's when he noticed his brother was missing. He searched the beaches for his brother and never stopped.
At sixteen Jack joined the Time Agency; becoming a rogue agent conning the Agency out of sums money when he woke up one say with two years of his memory missing. This was when his life changed once more, in such a way that he never would have thought. While running a con in War ravaged London, Jack met the Doctor; then in his Ninth body; and Rose Tyler. After a mishap with the ship he was trying to sell, Jack did the noble thing and saved the day, only to put his own life at risk. He was rescued before his time ran out however and began his travels with the Doctor.
Then came the battle; finding themselves on Satellite Five, Jack, the Doctor and Rose escaped the game shows they had been hidden in, uncovering the secret the Satellite was holding when Rose was 'killed'. This started a battle when the secret being hidden turned out to be a new fleet of Dalek ships. Jack laid down his life in the fight to give the Doctor more time, only to be brought back to life by Rose when she absorbed the Vortex to save the Doctor.
Upon finding himself abandoned, Jack made his way back to Earth, arriving a Century early when his Vortex Manipulator broke. Jack wasted some time dosing in bars in Cardiff until Torchwood caught up to him, he did some free lance work for them while he waited for the Doctor to return. However, upon finding he would have to wait one hundred years to meet the Doctor again, Jack signed up for Torchwood; where he ended up running it at the start of the Millennium after an incident with the previous Commander.
Jack eventually found the Doctor again, earning himself his place on the TARDIS after under going a year of torture at the hands of the Master on the Valiant. Jack knew his fate, but gave his Manipulator to Martha and stayed with the Doctor. Remaining loyal to the Time Lord. After the year he was offered his place beside the Doctor on the TARDIS again but declined the offer in favor of staying with his team who needed him. It was never a permanent no however, and Jack would travel with the Doctor again some day.
Role-playing Sample:
The cool breeze tugged playfully at the spiky strands of Jack's hair as he observed the slumbering City. It had been rather a quiet night so far, the rift and the Weevils had been behaving themselves, and as such Jack had awarded the rest of the team the night off; remaining on guard himself. The rest of them had lives to attend to, this was pretty much Jack's life now. He was here for good until the Doctor came; until he could take up his space in the one place he'd called home in a long time. The TARDIS had been home for Jack for so long, the one place he'd felt safe; the Doctor and Rose were his family. A puff of pale air rose up into the night as the Captain let out a slow breath. That all seemed so long ago now. It had been almost a century now, and other than wanting to see his home again Jack had questions that needed to be answered. He'd found out the hard way that he couldn't die eventually, after several - and many of them not so pleasant- deaths, that he couldn't be killed. He was the man who couldn't die.
He was often taunted by such thoughts when he was left alone, watching over the City that he'd taken charge of almost a decade ago now, after working there for almost a whole Century. He was torn from his thoughts however when the flash of a shadow caught his attention; and the growling snarl of a Weevil met his ears. Despite himself a grin teased at the corners of Jack's lips, the chase was on. Jack was quickly sprinting through the alleys, the soles of his boots splashing at the shallow pools of water that had gathered from the rain that had fallen earlier in the day. Turning a corner, Jack skidded to a halt his blue eyes falling on the mass of Weevils gathered against the back wall of the alley. They were acting odd, even for Weevils, they were all huddled together yowling pitifully, their dark black eyes shining slightly with something that could either be pain, or fear. The Captain was about to reach for the phone settled in the pocket of his black slacks when he was thrown of balance with a quake that was vicious, a sound like cracking ice filled the air; the damp air was tinted with the orange glow usually reserved for the air around an open flame. There was only one thing that could have that effect on the Weevils like that and create that effect on the atmosphere of the City, especially this close to the Bay ... the rift.
